Parish Manager


St. Clare Parish, a community of 7,200 households in Staten Island, NY (Archdiocese of NY) rooted in Vatican II leadership seeks a Parish Manager.  The Parish Manager reports directly to the Pastor and oversees all aspects of temporal administration of the parish which includes: 730 students (PreK - Gr. 8) in the parochial school, 1,100 students in the religious education program, over 80 ministry programs and services.  The Parish Manager monitors all day-to-day operations including the preparation and management of $5 milllion budget, facilities and property management, scheduling, communications, marketing, staffing, vendor management, grant writing, fundraising, stewardship, technology needs, and all other temporal matters related to parish administration.  


Basic Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and management of combined (church/school) annual operating budget of $5,000,000

  • Reviews and approves weekly receivables averaging $25,000

  • Prepares Annual Parish Report with financial and ministerial statistical data

  • Establishes all recommendations for Annual Tuition & Fee Schedule

  • Oversees Human Resource matters for 52 full time and 58 part time employees

  • Manages and monitors approximately 600 volunteers across all parish entities

  • Ensures all loss prevention measures are monitored, updated, and reviewed specifically for finances, property, and general liability


Minimal Qualifications:

  • Degree in Management, Finance, Administration, related field(s), or demonstrated experience

  • Excellent and proven communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Knowledgeable of technology software and hardware

  • Previous management/leadership experience preferred

  • Familiarity with church management policies and procedures

  • Successful clearance of criminal background check in accordance with all necessary hiring policies of the Archdiocese of New York


Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary and benefits commensurate with experience and educational qualifications for an exempt, full-time lay administrator.

Sports Coordinator


Working under the supervision of the Pastor and Parish Manager the part time Sports Coordinator will oversee all parish sports and the related administrative tasks associated with the programs.

Duties and responsibilities:
  • Oversee and supervise all sports programs for parish
  • Create and manage individual sport committees and directors
  • Direct dealing with Staten Island CYO for basketball, cheer, track, and baseball/softball
  • Direct dealing with Wagner College for swim program 
  • Serve as a member of the parish staff working directly with all staff to ensure communication and support of the programs and facilities.
  • Create facility schedules for two gyms and all sports including basketball, cheer, and track.
  • Actively participates in budget process including the approval process of all expenditures.  
  • Attains sponsorships and support for parish fundraising.
  • Serves as direct contact for all outside group rental of facilities
Expectations:
  • Knowledge of CYO or similar sports organization
  • Comfortable with technology and regular use for communication
  • Flexible schedule with night and weekend availability
  • Participation at monthly Parish Staff meetings
  • Participate in quarterly Parish Council meetings
  • Routine contributions to weekly church bulletin and website postings.
  • Willingness to submit to background check and participate in 3 hour Virtus training, in accordance with Archdiocese of New York policy
  • Stipend salary available to be paid in accordance with all regulations set forth by the Archdiocese of New York and NY state labor laws.
