Vatican II Reflection

St. Clare's is pleased to welcome Dr. Nanko Fernandez, D.Min as the guest speaker following an Evening Vesper Service on 

Sunday, October 21, 2012 
at 4:30 PM in our church.

Dr. Nanko Fernandez, D.Min
is an Associate Professor of Pastoral Ministry and Director of the Ecumenical Doctor of Ministry program at the Catholic Theological Union, Chicago, Illinois. A Latina theologian, she served as President of the Academy of Catholic Hispanic Theologians of the United States (ACHTUS). Among her publications are the book “Theologizing in Espanglish: Context, Community and Ministry (Orbis Books, 2010); her scholarship focuses on Latin@theologies, Catholic social teaching, interelgious and intercultural relations, immigration and the intersections between faith and popular culture. Carmen was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. In 2012 ACHTUS awarded her the Virigilio Elizondo Award for “Distinguished achievement in theology, in keeping with the mission of the Academy”.
