Adult Faith Formation at St. Clare's Parish has two goals:
  1. To form a parish that is vitally alive in faith. We seek to provide a parish climate and an array of activities and resources designed to help adults more fully understand and live their faith.
  2. To form adults who actively cultivate a lively baptismal and eucharistic spirituality with a powerful sense of mission and apostolate. Nourished by word, sacrament, and communal life, they will witness and share the Gospel in their homes, neighborhoods, places of work and centers of culture.

In short, the aim of this program is to do everything we can to support and encourage each member of this parish on their spiritual journeys with Jesus Christ.

  • Online Retreat

  • There is a new web site that offers free daily podcasts that will offer a helpful guide for your daily prayer.
Pray-as-you-go is a daily prayer session, designed for use on portable MP3 players, to help you pray while travelling to and from work, study, etc. It is a free service. A new prayer session is produced every day. It is not a 'Thought for the Day', a sermon or a bible-study, but rather a framework for your own prayer.

Lasting between ten and thirteen minutes, it combines music, scripture and some questions for reflection. The aim is to help you to:

  • become more aware of God's presence in your life

  • listen to and reflect on God's word

  • grow in your relationship with God.

  • Monsignor Murphy and several members of the parish staff attended "SPICE 2007: Kids on the Edge: The Perils and Potential of the Media and Technology in Catholic Education," held June 21-23 at Boston College, Chestnut Hill, Mass.

Nationally renowned speakers Chris Hanson, correspondent for "Dateline NBC," and Michael Russell, associate professor at Boston College and chief editor of "Journal of Technology, Learning and Assessment," addressed the double-edged sword of the Internet and other technology, addressing both the danger and the potential for enhancing learning.

In addition, St. Clare's program, "Cyberfaith and Catholic Faith: St. Clare's Technology Initiative" was one of six innovative programs showcased that successfully addressed technology issues in Catholic schools in various parts of the country.

Looking to history and theology, O’Malley addresses this subject in a keynote talk that was part of Boston College’s “Handing on the Faith” conference for Catholic scholars and leaders. This presentation is the opening event in St. Clare’s annual Faith on the Web series. Heart-to-Heart Conversation

The motto for our Adult Faith Formation program is “Cor ad cor loquitur” which means “heart to heart conversation.” We selected this motto because it is our core belief that people grow in their faith when they break open the important events in their lives with one another. This is where we recognize the Lord who is already acting in our hearts and experiences.
